Original Paintings by Anne Ducote

About the Artist

Anne Ducote grew up in an Air Force family, and as a result, lived in many places during her early years. Ducote graduated with honors from the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida, in 1969. Her last year of study was sponsored by a scholarship from Hallmark Cards, Inc. After school, Anne was employed by them as a designer for the next 4 years, in Kansas City, Missouri. A move to Aspen in 1973 inspired Ducote to focus on creating fine art. It was at that time that she began selling her paintings. Anne moved to Austin, Texas in 1976, and resides there to this day. Over the years, travel has been a large part of her life, and as a result, her work reflects some of the beautiful places and things she has seen. Her creative endeavors have included her original paintings in oils, watercolors and pastel drawing, several print series and assorted prints, commercial work, faux finishing, murals, and commissioned painting used on movie sets, portraiture and the like.

Her subjects range from the ordinary to the sublime. Light, moment, composition - these are all elements that interest and concern the artist. It is not so much about the view, as it is about the eye of the viewer.
